The Thing: Texts from Mark and Deacon

Welcome to The Thing, where Lisa Henry and I give away a copy of MARK COOPER VERSUS AMERICA (available January 28) to one astute reader who keeps abreast of all the Prescott College related stuff we post on our blogs from now through release day. See details here. We'll be posting texts between the characters, excerpts from Prescott's student newspaper, characters' homework assignments and more!

Yesterday on Lisa's and my blogs, you met Mark and Deacon. Mark: Australian, less-than-fond of small town Pennsylvania, and way more concerned with sex than academics. Deacon: studious, responsible, and rather fond of angry bunny Mark.

Using the magic of the Internet, we've recreated several of Mark and Deacon's text convos. In this one, Mark, dressed in girls' clothes following a hazing activity at the fraternity he's pledging, spies Deacon on the balcony of Phi Sig, the neighboring frat house.

And here is Mark interrupting Deacon during the Phi Sig house meeting to make an urgent request:

More to come, and check out Lisa's blog for other Mark/Deacon texts!

  1. I love the texts! The Romeo and Juliet one is priceless, and Mark sounds a hoot.
